A year after the Israeli Embassy took part in rebuilding Makati High School, Ambassador Effie Ben Matityau recently talked to the students on their responsibility in obtaining a good education.
After joining the Brigada Eskwela community program in 2015, Ben Matityau urged Makati High School students to take care of their “ticket to education,” which he also said is their “ticket to life.”
“We are talking about the world that is very complex, very demanding, and a growing population that is constantly looking for opportunities. If you are attending school and doing it right and well, I believe that you are on the right path to the future,” Ben Matityau said.
The Israeli ambassador also thanked the school staff and everyone that took part and volunteered to make the repairs and cleanup drive in the school a success.
The embassy’s part in Brigada Eskwela was done in commemoration of the rescue of the 1,300 Jewish people during the Holocaust in World War II and the open-door policy under the presidency of Manuel L. Quezon.
