The State of Israel recently celebrated 64 years of Independence this year.

And the Embassy of Israel in Manila celebrated the birth of the Jewish State with a fun-filled night hosted by Ambassador Menashe Bar-On and Madame Esther Bar-On at Intercontinental Hotel Manila.

Ambassador Bar On gave a heartwarming speech as he described the Philippines as a wonderful opportunity for his first posting in Asia. The Israeli envoy took stage and expressed optimism for Israeli-Philippine relations. He was then joined by DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Esteban Conejos, in a toast to the continuing ties between Israel and the Philippines.

As an indication to continuing ties, Ambassador Bar-On said Israel is ready to share its knowledge and ideas through common bilateral aspects.

As part of the celebration, the Embassy introduced renowned Israeli anuthor,  memory trainer and Guinness world-record holder  Eran Katz, to the Philippine audience. They witnessed memory stunts and laughed their hearts out through Mr. Katz’ clever humor.

Joining the Embassy’s celebration were Ambassador Ruth Kahanoff, Deputy Director-General for Asia and Pacific Affairs; and Mr. Chaim Choshem, Director of South and Southeast Asia Department of the Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.   Both officials were in the countru forn the recently held Joint Commission Meeting with their counterparts in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
