Colors of Israel goes to Davao

    The Embassy of Israel, in partnership with the Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ICCP) and Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industries, conducted a two-day business and tourism fora in Davao.
    An agriculture forum entitled “Accelerating Agriculture Innovation” included speakers from four Israel-based companies that are global leaders and pioneers in agriculture technology. These companies are: Netafim, a pioneer in drip revolution and smart irrigation solutions for smallholders and large-scale agricultural producers; SCR Dairy, global provider of innovative cow monitoring solutions; Eshet Eilon which designs and manufactures innovative modular sorting systems for various produce; and Tahal Group, a leading global provider of sustainable infrastructure development projects in emerging markets worldwide.    
     

    An IT and cyber security forum entitled “The Road to a Digitally Empowered Society” was held in Davao with speakers from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and ICCP. ORT Israel Network, Israel’s biggest vocational and technical educational system, also introduced its capacity in the area of technological education.
     
     
     
    As part of Israel Embassy’s cultural program in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), special screenings of “Kicking Out Shoshana” (2014), an Israeli movie starring Gal Gadot – our wonder woman in her early years, were held at the FDCP Cinematheque and the University of Southeastern Philippines. 
     
     
    Excellence in education – a collaboration between Davao City Government, Embassy of Israel, Pass It Forward Foundation, and ORT Israel Network

    Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Ambassador Effie Ben Matityau signed a declaration of commitment and partnership for the Excellence in Education: A Lighthouse Project.
     


     
    The Israel Embassy and partner agencies also visited Mintal Comprehensive High School for the launch of the “Capacity Building of Teachers on Project Innovation, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics” (iSTEAM) project.
     
     

    Israel Ministry of Tourism’s Director Hassan Madah discussed tourism exchange on the backdrop of growing interest among Filipinos to travel to Israel – the Holy Land and the Land of Many Promises.
