    About the Course
"Every child needs one adult to believe in him" (Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach) These days while the whole world is dealing with the corona crisis, the first groups of the population to be affected are the populations at risk, those on the margins of society anyway. They are joined by those children and youths who before the Corona were "borderline; on the verge of dropping out of school and on the border of risk. Surveys and reports from the "Corona Year" indicate an increase in the number of students who dropped out of school, an increase in suicide attempts, an increase in reports of loneliness, alcohol and drug use, sexual exploitation on the Internet, and more. Educational-therapeutic teams that work with children and youth at risk deal daily with difficult behaviours of expressing distress - rejection, avoidance, aggression, frustration, anger, and more. Constant staff exposure to these frustrating situations ultimately impairs their ability to contain children and adolescents and take them out of risk situations back into society as leaders and as equals. The online course "How to Mentor Professionals Working with Children and Youth at Risk" provides a space for the personal development of team members and the acquisition of tools that will change the lives of at-risk children and youth.
    Objectives

    • Participants will learn how to improve their relationships with at-risk children and youth and thus build trust and a solid relationship.
