From September 18th to the 20th the city of Assisi hosted the International Meeting "THIRST FOR PEACE: Religions and cultures in dialogue". This event, promoted by the Community of Sant'Egidio together with the Diocese of Assisi, the Franciscan Families, the Bishop's Conference of Umbria, the administrations of the Region of Umbria and the City of Assisi, brought together leaders from all over the world and from different religions to dialogue and pray, building the base for a future of peace.
Pope Francis joined the Meeting on the last day and prayed together with religious leaders from all over the world.
The Ambassador-Designate of Israel to the Holy See, Oren David, along with the Director of the Department for World Religions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sharon Regev took part at the event and attended different panels.
