On December 2, 2015, The Israeli Embassy to the Holy See together with the Pontifical Urbaniana University, organized a conference to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Conciliar Declaration Nostra Aetate.

Lecturers included His Eminence Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Commission for Religious Relations with the Jews; Dr. Riccardo Di Segni, Chief Rabbi of Rome;  Professor Paolo Trianni, from the Urbaniana Faculty of Theology;  and Professor Raymond Cohen, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

During the initial greetings Ambassador Evrony stressed the importance of interreligious dialogue in this historical period.

He also explained the significance of the declaration Nostra Aetate that "paved the way to several developments, enabling a direct dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Jewish people, and between the Vatican and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. Moreover, the recognition of the State of Israel, the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and the State of Israel in 1994, and the official visits of three Popes in Israel, would not have been possible had this document not been issued."

This important occasion also marked the inauguration of the exhibition introduced by Rabbi Abraham Cooper, deputy director of Wiesenthal Center and representative of UNESCO: "People, book, land: the 3500 Year Relationship of the Jewish People with the Holy Land" (co-organized by UNESCO and the Simon Wiesenthal Center).
At the event participated around 100 people among which Vatican authorities, representatives of the Jewish Communities, ambassadors accredited to the Holy See, academicians, and many students.
After the speeches and the debate, a short klezmer-music recital by the Gabriel Coen Duo followed.
