Pope Francis trip to Iraq was “certainly of great impact and followed throughout the world. Israel is a multicultural and multireligious country where everyone is allowed to pray freely and wear their own religious symbols and it is therefore natural that we welcome Pope Francis message for peace and security, a strong message against violence and terrorism and in favor of religions which must bring to their faithful a message of peace, dialogue and coexistence”. With these words, the ambassador of Israel to the Holy See, Oren David, comments to SIR on the journey of Pope Francis to Iraq which ended yesterday.
