    The Consulate General of Israel to New England is seeking a new Chief of Staff to the Consul General, and Director of Economic Affairs and Innovation.

    1. Chief of Staff position (Boston, MA 02116, Full-time):

    The Consulate General of Israel to New England is seeking a highly motivated, individual to serve as executive assistant to the Consul General (CG) to enhance ties between New England and Israel based on working partnerships and a solid understanding of the values that unite us.

    We are looking for a welcoming and diplomatic individual to help promote relationship-building in our friendly work environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, have strong time-management skills and be a good multi-tasker. Main focus includes respectfully cultivating and maintaining relationships with a variety of contacts for our CG.


    Key Responsibilities:

    ·         Assist the CG in all administrative matters and coordinate the execution of all official meetings.

    ·         Assess inquiries directed to the CG, determine the proper course of action.

    ·         Manage the professional relationships with all office employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness to existing operations.

    ·         Write memos and briefings and serve as the liaison of the CG to key stakeholders.

     

    Skills:

    ·         Minimum requirement Bachelor's Degree.

    ·         Exceptional English writing and verbal communication skills are necessary.

    ·         The ability to multitask in a fast-paced and intense work environment.

    ·         The ability to speak Hebrew is a plus, but not necessary.

    ·         Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with team members

    ·         Good organizational skills and event planning expertise

    ·         Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain multiple relationships and coordinate events and speaking engagements

    ·         Strong writing skills; ability to craft timely executive correspondence, reports, and memos on trends, visits, and meetings

    ·         Social Media savvy (Twitter, Facebook, website platforms)

    2. Director of Economic Affairs and Innovation (Boston, MA 02116, Full-time):

    The Consulate General of Israel to New England is seeking a Director of Economic Affairs and Innovation. This high impact and dynamic role offers the opportunity to act as a key liaison and adviser to the Consulate’s diplomats regarding New England’s economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, multinational organizations, and business development specialists across diverse markets. In addition, this position offers an excellent opportunity to work extensively with Israeli diplomats to deepen economic integration and grow strategic economic and trade ties. The employee will work in an exciting fast-paced environment to foster bilateral trade, assist with the entry and/or expansion of Israeli business offerings into the New England market, organize trade delegations, and build relations with Fortune 500 companies and local government agencies. The employee will also promote foreign direct investment, help companies find investment capital and encourage industrial R&D agreements/projects.

    As the Director of Economic Affairs and Innovation, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities. Typical duties include:

    ·         Promote and represent Israeli industry within the New England business community.

    ·         Help Israeli exporters find the resources and contacts needed to enter or expand into the New England market.

    ·         Identify and foster potential partnerships.

    ·         Assume all aspects of business development, including cultivating contacts, developing relationships with business, government, and industry leaders, and following news and trends for assigned industry sectors.

    ·         Cooperate with other organizations, associations, and government offices to plan and oversee events and trade missions.

    ·         Build and maintain a network of professionals to help support business and trade.

    ·         Perform administrative and office tasks.

    ·         Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

    ·         Occasional travel may be required (<20%).


    Qualifications:

    A bachelor's degree is required (Master’s degree is preferred) preferably in the area of business administration or economics. It is essential that the candidate work collaboratively and cooperatively with a diverse team. Additionally, the successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the unique nature of the New England business environment. Understand internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs. Be able to orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish measurable goals and outcomes. The ideal candidate learns quickly when facing new situations.

    ·         3-4 years of relevant work experience preferred

    ·         Strong writing skills; ability to craft timely executive correspondence, reports, and memos on trends, visits, and meetings

    ·         Skilled in communicating orally by preparing and presenting briefings and presentations for government officials and outside parties

    ·         Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

    ·         The ability to multitask in a fast-paced and intense work environment.

    ·         The ability to speak Hebrew is a plus, but not necessary.

    ·         Ability to maintain effective communication and working relationships with team members

    ·         Excellent organizational skills and event planning expertise

    ·         Excellent interpersonal skills

    ·         Experience in small and large scale event planning and logistical coordination of working trips desirable

    ·         Social Media savvy (Twitter, Facebook, website platforms)
