In February 2019, Israel and Chad announced the renewal of their diplomatic relations. Last October, Israeli Flying Aid (IFA),  a non-profit, humanitarian NGO that delivers life-saving aid and relief to communities affected by natural disaster and human conflict, transferred and distributed medical equipment, disposable medical supplies and food to medical centers, orphanages and refugee camps across Chad.

Among those the delegation met were patients suffering from severe physical and mental trauma caused by the ongoing terror activities in the area. In addition to the material aid, the team's actions on the ground included the activity of a medical clown who specializes in emotional trauma caused by rape and loss. The medical clown operated in areas heavily hit by combat that were covered by the delegation as it was delivering its aid throughout Chad.
