Today, we are celebrating 64 years of a great miracle, the return of an old nation back home and a creation of the modern State of Israel. What a glorious and wonderful miracle Israel is today.
Miracle, because only 71 years ago, Jews were taken to death because they had no homeland and no defense. And look at us today!
Miracle, because 64 years ago Israel had 650.000 inhabitants, and now almost 11 times more, around 8 million people. Among the builders of the nation, were also immigrants from ex-Yugoslavia who contributed to our strength and sovereignty.
Miracle, because the Hebrew language was for 2000 years a language of prayers and now it’s a source of unbelievably dynamic and rich creation of arts and literature.
Miracle, because 64 years ago, the new State of Israel was a poor desert and swamp. And today, we are one of the leading countries in hi-tech and innovation, smart agriculture and medical research. We have 10 Nobel Prize Laureates, and waiting for more.
So many miracles for a small nation which knew in its history glorious chapters as well as deep disasters and agony.
