The Consulate General of the State of Israel for Southern India was established in Bengaluru in 2013, as the 3rd Israeli diplomatic mission in India (alongside New Delhi and Mumbai). It covers the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The Consulate General of Israel in Bengaluru deals with Trade, Consular Affairs, Culture and Public Diplomacy among other areas.
In accordance with the Agriculture Cooperation Agreement signed between India and Israel in 2008, and with the three year work plan finalized between the Ministries of Agriculture in 2011, Indo-Israel agriculture cooperation projects are in various stages of implementation across India. There are five Centers of Excellences already established in our region dealing in the field of horticulture.
Quote from Ambassador of Israel to India H.E. Mr. Daniel Carmon:
“Our consulate in Bengaluru is not just a symbol of the tightening relations between Israel and India but a real manifestation of the progress Israel and India have made through the years. It is the answer for a growing need on both sides to create more channels with southern India.
The states of southern India - Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu – are very unique and significant and require a dedicated Israeli consulate in Bengaluru to develop our commercial, academic and cultural relations, as well as to increase cooperation in the fields of agriculture, development, education, healthcare and more than all - between people. Israel and the states of South India complement one another, creating a strong synergy that is already benefitting both the sides. We can all be rest a sure that this viable partnership will only grow stronger and stronger with time.”
Quote from Acting Consul General H.E. Amb. Dov Segev Steinberg:
“The Consulate General of Israel in Bangalore was established in 2013 with the goal of promoting, among others, trade relations, industrial cooperation and mutual investment between Israel and Southern India. The Consulate has issued more than 1000 visas since July 2014.  Apart from visas, The Consulate has helped to set up 5 horticulture Centers of Excellence throughout the Southern region of India.
Currently, we are promoting delegations both from the government and private sectors, to participate in WATEC— the largest water technologies exhibition in the world which will take place in Tel Aviv between 13- 15 October, 2015.”
