In an interaction with the press, Consul General Menahem Kanafi spoke about studying in Israel. Mr. Kanafi is glad to be able to cooperate with Indian students in order to educate the leaders of tomorrow.

Professor Ehud Heyman says, “Tel Aviv University is ranked amongst the 10 leading entrepreneurial institutes worldwide” and studying in TAU will give immense exposure to students in different fields. John Joe Vattathara, who has been bestowed with a full scholarship to study BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from TAU, is excited to start studying in Israel. He spoke about his application procedure and why he chose Tel Aviv University among other universities in Europe and the United States. The bright and young student also received his student visa by Mr. Kanafi.
Deputy Chief of Mission Ziv Shalvi spoke to the media about different scholarships available for students in India. Like the India-Israel Joint Academic Research Programme, this is a government to government initiative at the doctoral level.  The fund is being administered by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India, and the Israel Science Foundation. Other fellowships which are offered by the Israeli government offers annual post-doctoral fellowships under which each student is awarded an annual scholarship of NIS 100,000 (about $ 29,000). Other scholarships are also offered by the Israeli government for students studying at the graduate and post-graduate level.

Quote from Consul General Menahem Kanafi
“Both Indian and Jewish cultures prize education as one of our highest values. In the State of Israel – as the embodiment of the renaissance of the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland – education always has, and always will be, of utmost priority. Israelis blessed with an excellent higher education system, with fully three quarters of its universities placing in the top 100 in Asia, and one fourth in the top 150 schools in the world. In this sense, we are glad to be able to cooperate with Indian students in order to educate the leaders of tomorrow."

    Quote from Prof. Ehud Heyman
“TAU is one of the leading institutes worldwide in terms of scientific excellence and technological innovations. Building for the future, we believe that these young, extremely bright students from India will add in every way to what TAU stands for today. We cannot imagine building better bridges between our nations than through education.”
