Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon calls on PM Modi

    Israel's Defense Minister, Mr. Moshe Ya'alon called on today Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. During the meeting, both leaders discussed ways of cooperation between India and Israel in various sectors. Regarding Prime Minister's initiative 'Make in India', Defense Minister Ya'alon said he was extremely impressed with the Indian pavilion at Aero India in Bengaluru and was specially happy to witness actual examples of cooperation already happening between Indian and Israeli companies.
     
    Later in the day, Minister Ya'alon also met Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh and was the key note speaker at the R.K. Mishra Memorial Lecture organized by the Observer Research Foundation on Israel- India Partnership in the 21st Century.
     
    Speaking at the ORF event, Minister Ya'alon talked about the growing Indo-Israel relations and said," Our relations with India have become strong because of common values, interests and respect. Both countries have found ways to cooperate on security and defense behind the scenes. We were short of water and land so we made the desert bloom through innovation. This is one of the things we have offer to India. Israel is ready to share our technology & defense preparedness in government to government interactions. We are optimistic on implementing PM Modi's vision and we're hopeful that we can cement our partnership with India with PM Modi at the helm."
     
    Minister Ya'alon concluded his 3 day successful visit to India after attending the 'Aero India' show in Bengaluru and meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Civil Aviation Minister  Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju as well as his Indian counterpart Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar.
