In remembrance of fallen soldiers of the Mysore Lancers, who together with Jodhpur & Hyderabad Lancers, fought in the Battle of Haifa (1918).
This is one of the earliest connection between Israel and India in the modern days, which later bloomed to the friendship we have today.
