Jewish and Christian leaders gathered in solidarity to pray for Israel during last night's annual Memphis Prayer Dinner. Memphis community leader Jonathan Lindberg organized the event.

Memphis Jewish Federation Executive Director Jeffrey Feld was honored during the event.

Bishop Edward Stevens of the Golden Gate Cathedral, Dr. Danny Sinquefield of Faith Baptist Church and Chaplain Captain Rabbi Joseph Friedman  from the Tennessee Air National Guard all offered prayers of solidarity.

Consul General Opher Aviran spoke about Israel's challenges and the need to support the Jewish State.

"Now more than ever, we have the support of not only the Jewish community, but the Christian community," said Aviran. "Israel’s leaders know of the great Christian Zionist movement sweeping this country and especially here in the Southeast.  Jewish organizations, like the Jewish Federation here in Memphis, are emboldening the U.S.-Israel relationship. Tonight I am proud to be among my Jewish and Christian friends in praying for Israel," he said.

Congressman Stephen Fincher also spoke at the event.
