The American Jewish Committee (AJC) honored Deputy Consul General Sharon Kabalo during its annual Selig Distinguished Service Award Dinner on May 2nd.
Kabalo received the AJC Advocacy Award for her work with the organization during her tenure.
Jewish Community leaders Sheri and Steve Labovitz were the main honorees of the evening.
"We are all so grateful for Sharon's friendship and partnership over the past few years," said Dov Wilker, Executive Director of the AJC. "We are really going to miss her."
Kabalo said she was both "touched" and "pleased" upon receiving the award. "It
has been a great pleasure for me to work with the AJC on past
projects, and to witness the AJC's commitment to create healthy and
productive conversations about Israel. The bridges that the AJC builds with
other communities, I believe, is vital to us as Jews and for the State of
Israel," said Kabalo.
Deputy Consul General Kabalo returns to Israel this Summer after a 5 year deployment in Atlanta.
