General Dempsey Visits Israel

    ​Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces General (****) Martin Dempsey traveled to Israel for an official visit on August 12, 2013. Gen. Dempsey met with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz and with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

    In his visit Gen. Dempsey also met with President Shimon Peres and Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon.​

    In their meeting, Gen. Dempsey and Lt. Gen. Gantz discussed military cooperation between Israel and the U.S. and mutual security challenges. "It's great to be here ... to continue to build that strong relationship which is the basis for us accomplishing anything. It really is all about our relationship," said General Dempsey after the meeting.
