Internationally acclaimed singer David D'Or performed a special Independence Day concert as part of the Israeli Consulate's 65th Independence Day celebration. The concert took place at The Temple in Atlanta and was open to the public.

"David D'Or represents the mosaic of Israeli society," said Consul General Opher Aviran. "He can sing an American classic song one minute and a traditional Yiddish song the next. His performance is a true reflection of Israeli society and a true demonstration of how Israel and America are so alike," Aviran said.

D'Or also showed off his linguist skills by singing in Mandarin after recanting a humorous tale of performing live on Chinese television.

At one point in the concert D'or had audience members on their feet dancing during a spirited version of the famous Israeli song 'Hava Nagila."
Earlier that day, D'Or performed at a worship service at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the hoome church of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. D'Or sang "Amazing Grace" there as well. Congregants were moved to tears.

"It is an honor for me to perform at Ebenezer Baptist," said D'Or. "I sang at the Memorial Service for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr a few years ago and I am glad to be here today with you," he said.
