The delegation is sponsored by Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute, in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and leading hospitals in Israel. The delegation’s visit will provide a unique opportunity to gain greater exposure to Israeli innovations, cutting edge technologies, sophisticated equipment, professional knowledge and preparedness for emergency situations.

As part of this delegation, Tennessee Hospital CEO’s will meet with key Israeli medical professionals and tour Israel’s leading hospitals. This will be a great opportunity to glean firsthand knowledge of Israel’s healthcare field and will be a unique opportunity for mutually beneficial collaboration in fostering partnerships which could lead to Israel’s medical professionals working alongside their Tennessee colleagues in new innovative ways.

The Consulate partnered with Given Imaging, the Israeli-based medical device company that pioneered the revolutionary “Pill Cam” GI imaging device, as well as, Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee in hosting the event. During the closing remarks of the event, the guest of honor, Dr. John Dreyzehner, Health Commissioner for the State of Tennessee, spoke in depth about the unique US-Israel relationship and he wished the Tennessee group a safe and fruitful delegation.

While visiting Tennessee, Consul General Aviran also met with key political and business leaders to discuss avenues for mutually beneficial bilateral collaboration. Among which, Consul General Aviran met State Treasurer David Lillard, Congressman Jim Cooper and Congressman Chuck Fleischman. Overall, this was a very successful trip and the Consulate is very much looking forward to continuing to develop ties between Tennessee’s and Israel’s public health and life sciences fields.
