Consul General Aviran met with Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Economic Development Commissioner Bill Haggerty last week to discuss various means of economic collaboration through the Healthcare industry and Health Technology. This visit follows Consul General Aviran's previous trip to Nashville last October where he participated as a distinguished panelist in the Governor's 59th Annual Economic Conference.
Israel and Tennessee share the important economic sector of Health-IT. Healthcare is the largest industry in Nashville. Israel ranks first in the world in medical device patents per capita and in the quality of scientific research institutions.
Last year, Israel hosted a special delegation of leading hospital CEO's from North America including five CEOs from Tennessee. The Israeli government is now working with Tennessee Health Commissioner Dreyzehner to strategize how Tennessee and Israel can take the next steps to further collaboration.
Israel's most prominent and dynamic Energy Conglomerate Delek Group established its U.S. headquarters in Brentwood, TN several years ago. Delek Group is worth $10 billion.
Consul General Aviran also attended a reception at the Governor's Residence honoring international representatives while on this trip.
