Consul General Opher Aviran welcomed American business leaders to the
American-Israel Chamber of Commerce's 17th Professional
Seminar for “Accelerating Southeast-Israel Growth: Mergers &
Acquisitions, Investments and Partnerships.” This half-day seminar was
designed specifically for businesses and professional firms, whether pursuing
business or looking to increase their effectiveness with clients and customers
in Israel. Participants learned why Israel is a major force in the Southeast
regional economy and how to get involved in this mutually beneficial activity
through innovation, investment, legal considerations, business culture, trade,
and M&A.Shai Robkin, the newly appointed President & CEO of
the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC) Southeast Region, gave the
keynote address about Southeast-Israel business opportunities and his
vision for taking the Chamber to the next level as the most effective
organization of its kind in North America. In addition, Yair Averbuch,
the CFO of Caesarstone, an Israeli manufacturer and world leader
for producing non-laminate surfaces, presented a case study for
plans to invest $75 million in the Southeast U.S. for expanded production
lines. Elhay Farkash, CEO of the Israeli-based LightAPP
Technologies, also presented his exciting business opportunities with
Georgia Power to integrate CleanTech applications in industrial plants
throughout the region.
This successful Professional Seminar is the latest example of
how U.S.-Israel continues to flourish, and why the Southeast retains its
position as one of the top centers in North America for
this bilateral economic activity.
