    ​This year’s guest of honor is none other than American actress, screenwriter and, above all, comedian Sarah Silverman. The two-time Emmy Award winner will be attending the screening of her award-winning HBO special “Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles”, alongside an onstage discussion with Einav Galili and a Q&A with the audience. While present, she will be awarded the Festival’s Achievement Award for her various contributions to film, television and media.

    In addition to Silverman, the festival will open with what is expected to be the highlight of the festival: the critically-acclaimed film “Phoenix”, directed by German filmmaker Christian Petzold. The film is a powerful portrayal of actress Nina Hoss as a WWII concentration camp survivor who returns to Berlin in search for her husband.

    For the first time, Holon Cinematheque will also be showing the best films of the festival, in addition to the screenings at the Jerusalem Cinematheque.
