Israel pledges $8.75 million to fight Ebola

    The State of Israel has donated $8.75 million to the United Nations Ebola Response Trust Fund.
     
    Of this sum, half a million dollars are earmarked for the World Health Organization (WHO), another half million for UNICEF, as well as $600,000 for the Israeli-run medical clinics.
     
    Israel has already sent fully equipped emergency medical clinics to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, and deployed public health and infectious diseases experts to Cameroon and the Ivory Coast to train local health professionals to treat the virus.
