Yossi Sassi is an Israeli Oriental rock pioneer and co-founder of Orphaned Land, an Oriental rock band formed in 1991 combining Middle Eastern elements with metal music. The group promotes a message of peace and unity between Judaism, Islam and Christianity.

A guitarist and producer, Yossi Sassi blends traditional and contemporary music, East with West, Rock with World music, folk instruments with electric. Sassi plays 17 different types of guitars and traditional instruments and has cooperated and recorded with artists from Kuwait to Portugal. Unusual for a band from Israel, Orphaned Land also has a following among Muslims and Arabs.
