The
World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) is an organization based in Geneva, Switzerland that maintains a network of the internationally recognized organizations that seek to discover the most promising young talents in classical music, through public competition. 121 of the world's leading music competitions are members of the federation, among them the Tchaikovsky Competition, Cliburn, Leeds, Queen Elizabeth and more.
The prestigious conference takes place every year in a different country. The
Arthur Rubinstein International Music Society is honored to host this years’ conference, and attaches great importance to its presence in Israel.
The Arthur Rubinstein International Music Society will host the international competition's Executive Brainstorming meeting. In addition to the exchange of views, it will provide its guests with a glimpse of the Israeli landscape - both geographical and human.
This General Assembly will host more than 80 federation members- competition managers and directors from 46 international competitions all over the world. In this assembly, the federation members exchange views and ideas in order to globally promote international completions. “Who Needs Competitions” is one of the topics that will be discussed by representatives from various categories: Music, Sports, Bridge and Plastic Arts. This panel will be moderated by the senior journalist-radio personality- actor-writer-director - Isacc Noy.
In addition, the Israeli-American pianist, Joseph Kalichstein, will be hosted as a special guest of the federation and will share his experience as a competitor, a teacher of competitors and as a jury member in international competitions.
