The
Manofim Festival of Contemporary Art opens this week in Jerusalem, now in its eighth year. The festival celebrates the rich and diverse artistic creation that takes place in the city throughout the entire year.
This year, visitors to the festival are invited to visit galleries and exhibition venues scattered around fascinating areas of the city, view artworks that address its residents, hear contemporary Jerusalemite stories, reflect on prophetic visions of the future of Israel all the while taking a look into unique buildings.
The festival runs from October 15-22 and includes 30 exhibitions and 20 galleries, showing a wide range of ideas and pieces. This year's theme of Manofim is "Voices", exploring those voices that are not always heard in the day-to-day noise of Jerusalem.
Manofim is made possible thanks to the rare collaboration between dozens of Jerusalemite galleries and art institutes, independent artist groups, and hundreds of artists who will take part in the exhibitions and special projects.
Manofim continues the discussion of contemporary art in the capital city. The multiple exhibitions of the
Biennale for Contemporary Jewish Art which opened last month continues until November 5.
