Thousands of people from several countries have come to see the new $55 million addition to the Tel Aviv Art Museum since it opened in November 2011.
"Everything started with the vision of the late Mordechai Omer, who was the chief curator and the director of the museum," says Shuli Kislev, acting director of the museum. "He really thought that Israeli art -- which was mainly in our storage, because we didn't have enough space in the main building -- should be exhibited in large beautiful galleries."
Social and business entrepreneur Jay M. Schultz adds, "The new museum is really a major step forward to showing Israel on an international level."
