Good Deeds: Not just an idea, an annual event

Good Deeds Day is an annual event that brings together people - young and old - who chose to volunteer their time, energy and expertize to try and improve the lives of others and hopefully change the world for the better.

The idea of doing good deeds may not be an Israeli creation, but Good Deeds Day is. This annual event brings together people young and old who chose to volunteer their time, energy and expertize to try and improve the lives of others and hopefully change the world for the better. In Israel, volunteers participated in countless projects, some large, some small, and many aimed at helping vulnerable populations or promoting coexistence between Jews and Arabs. Other projects were just aimed at making life a bit better for the average citizen.

Since 2007, this event has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. If 7,000 Israelis participated in 2007, last year over 1 million people in over 70 countries took part (half-a-million in Israel alone).
