    ​During five days, from the 19th till the 23rd June, and after the unanimously aknowledged sucess in 2017, Bragança is once again the epicenter of Sephardic culture, hosting the second edition of Terra(s) de Sefarad — Encounters of Jewish-Sephardi Cultures.

    Having as its central activity the International Congress under the subject  “ Diasporas, Identity and Globalization “, with the scientific coordination of Cátedra de Estudos Sefarditas ‘Alberto Benveniste’, da Faculdade de Letras Universidade de Lisboa, Terra(s) de Sefarad will reestablish Bragança as a reference center for the reflection on the Jewish memory and patrimony in Portugal and throughout the North of the Iberian Peninsula.

    At the same time, the Terra(s) de Sefarad also includes the 1st Forum of Sephardic Economics and Entrepreneurship - seeking to harvest the good examples of the pluricontinental dynamics, this ability to undertake beyond the immediate moment and the closest geography – but also the Encounter of Local and Regional Sephardic Historiography, exhibitions, a show of Sephardic-Jewish cinema, the characteristic Kosher market and the inevitable/essential concerts of Sephardic music.

    «Diasporas, Identity and Globalization» | It is intended to place the city as a reference center for the reflection on the memory and the Jewish heritage in Portugal and throughout the North of the Iberian Peninsula.

  • Forum of Sephardic Economics and Entrepreneurship

    With this Forum, it's intended to equate he added values and strategies of the Portuguese economy 's rapproachment to the rhythms and specificities of the Sephardic economy and finance, with special focus on both the connection between Sephardic communities around the world and the connection with the Sephardic Jews who in recent years have sought for the Portuguese citizenship.
