Israel’s representation to Barbados is through its New York embassy to the Caribbean, while Israel also has an Honorary Consul-General in Bridgetown.  The Barbadian High Commissioner in London is accredited as the non-resident Ambassador to Israel.  Barbados also has an honorary consul in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Barbados and Israel established diplomatic relations within one year of the island’s independence.   The two countries maintain a lively trade of over 2 million US$ (2014), while a number of Barbadian professionals travel to Israel each year for advanced courses in fields such as education, agriculture and healthcare.

The Jewish community in Barbados, although small, dates from 1654 and is among the oldest in the New World.  Various activities help maintain the connection between the Jewish community and Israel.
