The consulate
provides notarial services for Israeli citizens and for foreign citizens with
documents intended for use in Israel only.
The following services
are provided:
1. Verification of
signatures on affidavits and power of attorney.
2.
Verification of copies.
3. Life certificate.
· A person wishing to
sign a document must be completely proficient in the language in which the
document is written.
·
If the document is not in English or Hebrew, it
must be translated into one of these languages according to the instructions
given by the consulate.
·
If the document is written in a language in
which the signer cannot prove their proficiency, the document must be
translated according by the instructions given by the consulate.
·
Documents should not be signed before your
appointment. They may only be signed in the presence of a Consul.
·
All the documents for signing and the copies
must be brought to the appointment in hard copy (printed).
·
Anyone requesting notary services has to be
legally competent to sign the documents.
· When requesting notary
services, the signer must present a valid Identification item caring a photo.
·
When requesting notary services for any
documents pertaining to real estate, the signer must present a valid ID or a
valid passport only.
· It is not possible to
confirm the making of a will at the Consulate.
The notarial
procedure:
- Prior to a meeting at
the consulate, the document must be sent by email, along with a copy of an ID
or Passport. In addition, you must confirm on the email that the person
wishing to sign the document is proficient in the language of the document.

All notarial procedure requires scheduling an
appointment ahead of time and coming to the Consulate in person to sign in
the presence of the Consul. All the documents must be brought to the
appointment in hard copy along with the ID.

All the required details in the document must
be filled in advance – except the signature. Parts that will be left unfiled
will be blocked. The signature itself will be done at the Consulate in the
presence of the Consul.

the Consular Fee Chart . It is possible to pay by debit card, credit card or cash
(exact amount).

· Processing time for
notary documents is up to 5 business days, starting from the day of signature
in the Consulate.
Important to note:
1. The role of the
consular representative is to identify the person signing the document. The
Consulate is not certified to advise regarding the content of the
document, it’s designation and details. The Consulate does not provide
samples of legal documents of any type.

The signer needs to know the exact contents of
the document and their meaning, where to sign, where to send the document after
verification of the signature, etc.
3.
The signer needs to be completely proficient
in the language of the document. They must be able to read the document in a
fluent manner and without assistance or explanation from another person.
4.
If the signer is not proficient in the
language of the document, please contact us for instructions regarding the
translation of the document.
5. It is in the Consul’s
jurisdiction to refuse to provide the notarial service if they are not
convinced that all the requirements of the law have been fulfilled.
Among other things, the consul may refuse the service when:
· They are not convinced
that the signature is given voluntarily.
·
The action is contrary to state law (Belgium,
Luxembourg and / or Israel).
·
The document is edited incorrectly or is
incomplete.
·
The language of the document is unknown to the
Consul or signer.
· The Consul does not
have the authority to perform notarial actions regarding minors prior to
obtaining approval from the Foreign Ministry headquarters.

Appointment
An appointment can be set by email or by phone.
An appointment is set per person. It is very important to
mention if more than one person needs to sign the document.
