    First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Radimir Čačić visited building sites



    Radimir Čačić, accompanied by Mr Tihomir Orešković, Pliva's President of the Board, has visited Savski Marof and Zagreb where Pliva is undergoing the biggest investment process in the company's history, due to Teva's financing worth USD 200 million

    In Savski Marof, Teva is investing in building Pliva's own waste water treatment plant. Investment in environmental protection is over HRK 100 million and it will include best available technologies according to IPPC directives and best practice within the EU.
    At the same time, in Zagreb, new facility for production of dry oral medicaments are being built that will increase existing production capacities mainly orientated for export to USA and Russia. New investments will lead to employment of additional 200 people.
    " This is the biggest private investment in Croatia, this year. Projects like these are strong incentive for employment, production growth and export. Teva, the owner of Pliva, has surely have chosen Croatia due to the knowledge of Pliva's employees, because of its speed in research procedure and production within Teva Group. Teva also recognized Croatia as a country open for investments and speedy procedure because since the beginning of the year we have approved 4 building and 7 location permits for facilities in Savski Marof, which is incredible result for our standards but it is about investment that deserves it because it will produce yearly value of USD 50 million per employee. Such investments have crumbled down speculations that after the sale Pliva will disappear. On the contrary, it is developing and increasing the number of employees.", said minister Čačić in his addressing to the media.
    " It is about the biggest investment in the history of Pliva. Teva's investment of this size is a result of trust in Pliva and in Croatia. Through three investments, we shall open 200 new jobs, and we are specially enthusiastic to employ scientist in research and development. Pliva will experience important increase of indirect hiring on jobs related to logistic and maintenance that shall contribute to the development and prosperity of the local community", said Mr Tihomir Orešković, Pliva's President of the Board.
