Fill the Void tells the story of an Orthodox family from Tel Aviv. Eighteen-year-old Shira is the youngest daughter in the family. She is about to be married off to a young man she's in love with. When her sister Esther dies while giving birth, Shira postpones her wedding while the family is in mourning. Everything changes when an offer is proposed to Esther's husband Yochay- he is to marry a widow from Belgium. Even though he is still not ready he realizes he will soon have to remarry. When the girls' mother finds out that Yochay may leave the country with her only grandchild, she proposes a match between Shira and the widower. Shira will have to choose between her heart's wish and her family duty. The film won 7 awards on the Israeli Film Festival and two awards in Venice
