Israeli leading choreographer Yasmeen Godder arriving to Zagreb with "See Her Change''
From the website of the Dance Week Festival:
"SEE HER CHANGE is a trio for women in which Godder performs alongside two of her longtime collaborators Dalia Chaimsky and Shuli Enosh. The process began by using the age difference of the performers and engaging each of their personal histories both as women and as performers, only to later de-contextualize them, by mixing and matching and overlaying them one on top the other, to create unexpected connections and compositions. By doing so, the work approaches the idea of femaleness as an interchangeable and constantly transformative form, in which self-image is continuously reshaped and challenged. Self-mockery is used throughout the performance, as a means of exposing vulnerability but also as a method of protection, a mask. As the three women go from being glamorous to pathetic, from being playful and childlike to becoming distressed and overwhelmed, the medium of the stage is used to expose, contemplate, and find new associations in regards to age, memory, performance and humor".
