EDUCATION COOPERATION

    As education and academic cooperation take a major role in Croatia - Israel relations, the Embassy has initiated an education curriculum program about Israel with brief introductions to different aspects of life in Israel
    .


    On January 15th 2014, Deputy Head of Mission Mrs. Hershkovitz visited DIU Libertas International University in Zagreb where she held lecture about Israel:






    Deputy Head of Mission and Consul Mrs. Michal Hershkovitz visited students and professors of Dubrovnik Private High School (Dubrovacka Privatna Gimnazija) Dubrovnik Elementary School I.Gundulic and Gymnasium Dubrovnik where she held lectures: "Israel: Small Country Large Impact", on November 4, 2013.

    On 5 November, Mrs. Hershkovitz visited and held lectures at Dubrovnik Campus of "RIT Croatia - American College of Management and Technology" and also DIU LIBERTAS  International University

    On February 28th, 2013, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul Michal Hershkovitz visited Čakovec high school "Srednja škola Čakovec" where she held a lecture
    titled "Israel: Small Country Large Impact". Students and proffesors had a chance to learn more about Israel trough lecture,presentation and Israeli movie.

    As part of the education cooperation, Mrs. Michal Hershkovitz held a lecture to students and professors of "Prva riječka hrvatska gimnazija" in Rijeka on November 21,2012 and to students and professors of High School  "Fran Galovic" from Koprivnica on November 27th,2012.

    Students had the chance to learn more about Israel and it's culture, history, geography, and every day life.

    After the lecture, students in Rijeka enjoyed screening of the Israeli movie: "Bonjour Monsieur Shlomi" which is a 2003 film, written and directed by Shemi Zarhin

    HIGHER EDUCATION IN ISRAEL has been undergoing a process of expansion. In 1989/90, Israel had 21 institutions offering academic degrees, in which a total of 88,800 students were enrolled. In 2011/12, there were 70 institutions with 306,600 students (including 47,900 studying in the Open University). During this period, the student population grew by an annual average of 5.8%.)

    Ambassador Yosef Amrani: "Knowledge and Education are the pillars of modern society, education is one of the most effective bridges between cultures and people in a world where the web is becoming the new resource of learning and communication.

    As education and academic cooperation take a major role in Croatia – Israel relations, the Embassy of Israel to the Republic of Croatia has initiated an education curriculum program about Israel aimed at opening a window to its' history, political system, culture, economy and politics to high school students. The program's intention is to encourage learning, present another country and people and engage the students in a self discovery journey.

    In the educational folder you will find brief introductions to different aspects of life of a modern – ancient nation which may resonate and relate to Croatian modern independent experience. In addition to the attached curriculum the Embassy can provide feature movies from Israel; recommended reading literature of modern Israeli novels translated to Croatian as well as discussion with Embassy staff on different topics of Interest".
