2nd Adriatic School on Nanoscience (ASON-2), Nanoscience from Synthesis to Characterization is taking place in Dubrovnik, September 2 to 7, 2012.

Institute Ruder Boskovic has organized 2nd Adriatic School of Nanoscience  in partnership with the University of Zagreb, Institute of Physics and with the financial support of the Israeli Embassy in Croatia.

School was officially opened by Ambassador of the State of Israel to Croatia,Yosef Amrani.

Prof. Reshef Tenne from Weizmann Institute of Science was the first one to give a lecture and open "ASON-2" .

"The 1st Adriatic School on Nanoscience (ASON-1), Dubrovnik, 2010, was designed to establish the very basics in the field of nanosciences. It was attended by more than 60 doctoral students from all over Europe, who listened to 12 renowned lecturers present the formation of nanostructures from the atomic to the macroscopic scales. Both the participants and lecturers found the project very successful. The aim of the ASON-2 is to provide insight into the preparation and characterization of modern nano-based materials and structures. This field is extremely important because it is the basis of all modern nanoscience and nanotechnology". (From the page http://ason.info/index.php)
