The Embassy of the State of Israel in cooperation with the Split-Dalmatia County and the Center for Culture and Lifelong Learning Zlatna vrata is organizing the fourth "Days of Israeli Film" in Split from September 3 until September 6, 2020.
This year, in Bačvice Open Air Cinema and the Zlatna vrata Cinema, visitors will have to chance to see great Israeli movies of different genres and get more familiar with Israeli culture.
The festival begins on September 3, 2020 at the Bačvice Open Air Cinema at 21:00 with the movie Maktub, the greatest Israeli blockbuster since 1986, directed by Oded Raz and written by the fantastic Guy Amir and Hanan Savyon, who also star in the movie. This comedy follows two small crooks who, after surviving a terrorist attack in a restaurant, decide to change their lives and begin fulfilling the prayers pushed between the rocks of the Wailing Wall.
During the festival, visitors will also get the chance to see the movies Back to Maracanã, Incitement, an incredible portrayal of the events that led to the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin from the perspective of his murderer, Flawless and Douze Points.
To end the festival, on Sunday, September 6, 2020, visitors will be able to enjoy the movie Forgiveness, also created by the dynamic duo of Guy Amir and Hanan Savyon. Forgiveness is a story about two crooks, Shaul and Nissan. After a robbery goes wrong, Shaul ends up in jail. Years later, Shaul is released from prison, and Nissan is an Orthodox Jew who just wants to get Shaul’s forgiveness…
