President of Panama on state visit to Israel

    On Thursday, May 29, 2014, President Shimon Peres held a diplomatic work meeting with the President of Panama Ricardo Martinelli, who is on a state visit to Israel accompanied by the heads of the Panama government.

    At the beginning of the meeting, President Peres said: "Panama is a true friend of Israel. I thank you in the name of the State of Israel for your constant support. The relations between Israel and Panama are very important to us. Panama is very advanced in the fields of technology and science, and we will be happy to enhance the agreements between our two countries for long term collaboration. It is an honor for me to host you here."

    In the framework of the state visit, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met with the Foreign Minister of Panama, Francisco Alvarez de Soto.
