If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”(Joseph Goebbels on the “big Lie”)

This infamous statement comes to mind as the so -called BDS movement in New Zealand prepares to launch another attempt of misleading the Public claiming Israel applies discriminatory policies towards the “Palestinian Bedouins”.

    And now for some facts:

    - The 29 November is the day associated with the adoption of the partition resolution which was rejected vehemently by the Arab world.

    -  In that resolution the Negev was a part of the Jewish State

    -  The Bedouins who live in the Negev are citizens of Israel. Many serve in the Army and some have joined the Diplomatic service.

    - There is no denial that the Bedouin Population faces different problems.

As recently as July of this year the President of the State Rivlin hosted Bedouin council heads along with the Minister for Rural development to discuss possible solutions to the problems of Bedouin communities in the Negev.

    -  The goal: The welfare of the Bedouin

In conclusion: BDS is not concerned with settlements or the Bedouins. Its goal is the de-legitimization of the State of Israel.

Just replace the word State for BDS in Goebbels statement…..
