Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman met on Sunday, June 1, 2014, with Stephan Weil, Minister-President of Lower Saxony and President of the Bundesrat, at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem.

FM Liberman noted that Israel considers its good relations with Germany as very important, and both countries must continue to foster and enhance these relations.

In the course of the meeting, FM Liberman referred to the elections held last week to the European Parliament, and noted with concern the significant strengthening of the neo-Nazi and racist parties, adding that the European states must examine the causes of this trend and how to contend with them.

FM Liberman called on the right-wing parties in Europe not to establish joint factions with such parties as Jobbik in Hungary or Golden Dawn in Greece, or any other parties of this kind which were elected to the European Parliament. Any faction which will include such a party will, from our perspective, be illegitimate.
