Reuven Rivlin, who served two terms as speaker of the Knesset, was elected by the Knesset to serve as Israel's 10th president. He will assume office on July 24, for a single seven-year term.
Ambassador Prosor said: Here at the family of nations, we'd like to congratulate Israel's newly elected president, Reuven Rivlin. Rivlin devoted his entire life to the State of Israel and the Jewish people and his life is deeply rooted in our land.
I am proud to represent the only democracy in the Middle East alongside a president who will bring pride and respect to the State of Israel.
