Ambassador Prosor spoke at the Informal Interactive Dialogue on the Report of the Secretary-General regarding the Responsibility to Protect (R2P), a responsibility that lay in the hands of the international community which must not stand silent in the face of barbaric crimes committed radical extremist groups as ISIS.

"We are experiencing a dark period which is taking us thousands of years back. The United Nations has been occupied with the Ebola epidemic in recent weeks, while other epidemics, just as serious, have been spreading quickly across the globe, in the form of religious and political extremism. There is no panacea- the only remedy is a bitter war against those who aim to destroy the values we've been raised upon. Israel is part of a worldwide struggle against these fanatics who aspire to destroy everything good in this world. Israel will operate to prevent this aspiration from realization and we call the world to wake up and stand up to these forces united. "
We welcome the opportunity to engage in this dialogue so that we may advance the protection of all people.
