Following the Molotov Cocktail terror attack that injured the Israeli citizen Inbar Azrak, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Ron Prosor, called on the Security Council to condemn the Palestinian leadership’s incitement to terror.

Ambassador Prosor added that: “While Israel does not hesitate to clearly and unequivocally condemn acts of terrorism, and is committed to bringing the perpetrators of such acts to justice, no matter who they are, it comes as no surprise that there has still been no condemnation of this attack by any Palestinian leader and the international community.”

Meanwhile, attacks against Israelis continue also on other fronts. In response to four rockets that were launched at Israel from Gaza, Ambassador Prosor said: “This summer we mark one year since Operation Protective Edge. These rockets that were fired indiscriminately at Israeli civilians are a dangerous provocation and Israel holds Hamas responsible for this attack. Rather than seeking to help the people of Gaza, Hamas is busy preparing for the next confrontation with Israel. The continued failure by the international community to effectively address impunity for terror organizations such as Hamas encourages those intent on further attacks.”

Due to the fact that there is only one side that is responsible for the launch of these rockets, Ambassador Prosor challenged the Security Council not to use the usual “UN lingo” by calling on both sides to show restraint: “This is a clear case of Hamas terrorists launching rockets against civilians.”
