At the initiative of the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, the UN headquarters in New York held an event that showcases Israel's humanitarian aid operations for countries around the world. At the event, Mexico's UN ambassador thanked Israel for the Israel Defense Force's (IDF) delegation that helped his country in the aftermath of the earthquake in 2017.

The event was attended by Lieutenant-General Shahar Bachar of the Home Front Command, who participated in the mission to Mexico, as well as the Chief Medical Officer, Tarif Bader.

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said at the event that "this is the true spirit and image of the State of Israel and the answer to the slander against the IDF soldiers who stand ready to help the world and save lives."

At the event, a representative from StandWithUs, an organization dedicated to education about Israel around the world, was present and commented: "There is no better way than to bring young and inspiring Israelis to our audience. We are proud to partner on such an important initiative and share the unique and uplifting stories of how the IDF is providing humanitarian support around the world.
