On April 29, the UN Security Council convened for its periodic discussion on the Middle East, during which Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, delivered a speech detailing the rights of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.

In his speech, Danon presented the "four pillars" that connect the Jewish people to the Land of Israel. While donning a skullcap, Danon read a chapter in Hebrew from the Bible, and then illustrated the historical connection of the Tribe of Judah, and presented the Balfour Declaration as further evidence. Danon also referred to the UN Charter and international law, saying that they too recognize the right of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel.

Within days of the UN debate, news sites around the world began reporting  on the speech extensively, calling it the "Biblical speech" and "the speech defending the rights of the Jewish people." Later, the speech was translated into Spanish, Polish, French, Portuguese and even Turkish. Zimbabwe wrote about it, and a Palestinian news site called it "a lesson in the history of Ambassador Danon.”

At the same time, the video also gained following among the Evangelical Christian community throughout the world, especially after a YouTube personality with 222,000 followers dedicated a full episode to the Israeli ambassador's speech. The speech was featured in a recent interview with CNN, and in print at FOX News.

On the YouTube page of the Israeli Mission to the United Nations, the speech has already drawn tens of thousands of views in its Hebrew and English versions and continues to be circulated among Facebook groups supporting Israel.

Ambassador Danon said that "the speech has resonated thanks to the strength of the truth. Its success has been welcome news as we conveyed to the world the strength of the eternal connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel."
