    Israel's Entrepreneurship for Development resolution was adopted on Thursday (December 19, 2014) by the United Nations General Assembly with 134 votes in favor, despite pressure by the Arab group to thwart the resolution.

    This resolution encourages all UN agencies around the world to promote entrepreneurship for development, enables growth, and helps overcome bureaucracy, social barriers and lack of funding for initiatives.

    Hadas Meitzad, Israel's Counsellor for Economic and Social Affairs: "It's important for us as Israelis, whom are known for being leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation, to use our experience for promoting financial growth and ideas for development on a global scale. Talent is everywhere, but opportunities need to be given in order to make a significant change."
