    Ambassador Galit Peleg – CV – ISRAEL

    Ambassador Peleg is a career diplomat.

     1998                      joined the Israeli Foreign Service as a cadet In.

    1999-2000            deputy Ambassador to Morocco In.  From

    2001-2005          Deputy Ambassador to Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro.

    2007-2011          Head of the liaison office to the European Parliament at the Israeli Mission to the European Union in Brussels.

    2011-2015          After returning to Jerusalem, she lead special projects in the field of “branding Israel’ and worked with leading PR firms in Europe, through her position at the Media and Public Affairs Division at the Foreign Affairs Ministry. She initiated a campaign called “Start Tel Aviv” to promote Israel as a Start Up Nation, in cooperation with the city of Tel Aviv.  This program, which brings entrepreneurs to Israel and turns them into “Ambassadors for Israel,” continues today in more than 50 countries around the world.

    2016-2019          Head of the Department for Public Diplomacy and Academic Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, responsible for reaching out to local communities and producing campaigns, events and lectures, to promote Israel’s brand, in NY, NJ, PA, OH, and DE.

    2019-2020          After returning to Israel, she worked at the Balkans department.

    2020-2021          Acted as interim Consul General of Israel in Miami.

    2021-2022          Director of overseas programs and humanitarian aid at Israel's development Agency MASHAV. Since Feb 2022, in addition to her roll she coordinated governmental humanitarian aid campaign to Ukraine, organizing hundreds of tons of medicine and food and was involved in the field hospital project in west Ukraine.

     2022 Sep' –        Ambassador of Israel to Albania and non-resident to Bosnia Herzegovina.

     

     She served as an officer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and, after completing her military service, studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where she graduated from two departments: Islam & Middle East Studies and International Relations.  

     

    She is fluent in Hebrew, English, French, and conversant in Arabic and Serbian.​
