“The deep rooted friendship between the people of Israel and the Georgian people goes back 2600 year and nowadays it is reflected in the excellent friendly relations between our two sovereign countries that were officially established 20 years ago, - Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, Dr. Itzkhak Gerberg said, - These excellent relations are bonded by the similarities between our two countries, which   Phoenix-like, are emerging from their history into independent democratic states. In the particular case of Israel, one has to recall that Israel is a state that its birth certificate is the Bible and its tragic historical collective memory includes the Holocaust. A country that still has to ensure its national security on a daily base while maintaining its features as a modern democratic and advanced state”.
