The Embassy of Israel, in collaboration with the Israel-Georgia Chamber of business and Rambam Hospital in Haifa, Israel, has airlifted two seriously wounded soldiers to Israel for an urgent medical treatment on August 24, 2008.

Upon arrival in Israel patients were immediately moved to the Rambam Hospital to start their medical treatment which is based on the Israeli vast medical experience in war injuries.  

According to the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Georgia, HE Itzhak Gerberg, similar humanitarian aid is expected to be carried out in the next coming weeks.

Meanwhile, fund raising campaign is being carried on across Israel in order to acquire relief supply and assist the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Georgia.
