MASHAV is an Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation and it was founded in 1958 as a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is responsible for initiating and implementing Israel's development cooperation program worldwide.
MASHAV aims at transferring the expertise and technologies that have assisted Israel in its own path to development to other countries. Today, Israel cooperates with over 140 countries, providing training in Israel and abroad, operating on-site demonstration projects and building medical infrastructure in partner countries. MASHAV is active in fields ranging from agriculture to medicine and from community development to entrepreneurship. MASHAV cooperates with various other centers in Israel when organizing a course, training or program on different topics. Some of them are CINADCO – Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation, ARO – Agricultural Research Organization, MCTC – The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center as well as with Hebrew University, Weitz Center and many others.
MASHAV has its own representative in Republic of Macedonia for some time now and whose joint aim with the Embassy of the State of Israel, with residence in Zagreb, is to strengthen relations between two countries.
Macedonia and Israel are building relations and transfer of knowledge in fields of agriculture, energy and water management among others where MASHAV courses are used as a helpful tool in exchange of experience and overall deepening of joint cooperation.
